Terms
The short version: pay once, use Sillon on your Macs for life, get a year of updates, and a full refund within 7 days if it isn't for you.
- 01
The license
Buying Sillon gives you a personal, lifetime license to use the app on your own Macs, up to the number of activations shown at checkout. The license is yours, not transferable, and may not be resold or shared publicly.
You can free an activation at any time from the license screen in Sillon, then use your key on another Mac.
- 02
Payment
Sillon costs €15, paid once. There is no subscription. Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record: Polar charges you, handles VAT and sales tax, issues your receipt and emails your license key.
- 03
Updates
Every update released during the first year after your purchase is included. After that year, Sillon keeps working and you keep the last version you received.
Sillon checks for updates with Sparkle. Each update is signed by us and notarized by Apple before it reaches you. You can check manually from the Sillon menu.
- 04
Refunds
If Sillon isn't right for you, write to us within 7 days of your purchase and we'll refund you in full. The license key then stops working.
- 05
Apple Music
Sillon plays music through Apple's MusicKit. Streaming the Apple Music catalog needs your own Apple Music subscription, sold separately by Apple, and what you can play depends on it. Sillon never asks for your Apple ID password. Apple Music is a trademark of Apple Inc.; Sillon is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.
- 06
Privacy
The Sillon app has no account. Your library, listening and recommendations stay between your Mac and Apple Music.
Sillon shares anonymous usage statistics with PostHog, hosted in the EU. They are on by default: the first time you open Settings, Sillon tells you about them, and No thanks or Settings › Usage statistics turns them off at any time. They are: that Sillon was installed, that it was used that day, that a license was activated, that a song, album or artist was started, and that you went deeper into a bubble. They come with the app and macOS versions, your Mac's model, screen size, language, time zone, whether it is on Wi-Fi, and country. They are tied to a random identifier for this Mac, never to your license, your purchase or your email, and never include what you listen to or search for. IP addresses aren't kept.
To activate and check your license, Sillon sends your license key and your Mac's name to Polar. Update checks fetch our public release feed on GitHub, without system profiling. Ratings you set in Sillon (Love, Not interested) are saved to your Apple Music account.
This website uses PostHog, an analytics service hosted in the EU, to see how visitors find and use it: pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, page speed and errors. IP addresses aren't kept. Until you answer the cookie question, visits are counted without cookies or anything stored in your browser. If you decline, we stop measuring your visits altogether. If you accept, PostHog also keeps an identifier in your browser and records your visits to the site, with what you type hidden, so we can see where it gets in the way. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings, in the footer below.
When you buy, Polar tells us about your order: the amount, your country and the email you paid with, and, if you accepted cookies, which visits led to it. We use this to understand our sales and to help you, and we never sell or share it.
- 07
Requirements and warranty
Sillon runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later with Apple Music. It is provided as is: we work to keep it reliable, but we can't guarantee it will be free of bugs or that Apple Music services will always be available.

Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; changes never take away a license you already bought.
