What is Sillon?

Instead of scrolling lists of artists and albums, Sillon shows your Apple Music library as round album covers on a map, starting from Apple Music's picks for you and what you play most.

Click any bubble and the map rebuilds around it, so you move from a song you know to one you would never have scrolled to. The name is the French word for the groove of a record.

1. It starts with what you play. Apple Music's picks for you and your most played, laid out as a map instead of a list.
2. Go deeper. The map rebuilds around any bubble: similar artists, their albums, their best songs.
3. Albums open into records. Tracks fan out around the cover and spin while they play. Play, skip, go back.
4. Roam further. Turn up the Exploration dial and Sillon pulls in genres you never play and artists two steps away.
5. And you're somewhere new. Four clicks from where you started, on a record you would never have scrolled to.

Sillon is for Apple Music listeners whose library has grown to thousands of songs while they keep playing the same few, and for anyone who likes digging through music the way you flip through a crate of records. It is built for the moment a DJ knows well: landing on the track you weren't looking for.

Sillon plays music through Apple's MusicKit, so it works with Apple Music only, not Spotify or other services. Streaming the Apple Music catalog needs your own Apple Music subscription; songs you purchased or synced may play without one.

It runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later with Apple Music. Sillon is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.

The Sillon app has no account. Your library, your plays and your loves stay between your Mac and Apple Music, and Sillon never asks for your Apple ID password. It only goes online to activate your license with Polar (your key and your Mac's name), to check for updates and to send anonymous usage statistics: installs, days used, songs started, dives, never what you listen to. They are on by default and Settings turns them off at any time. Your key is kept in your Mac's Keychain. This website measures its own visits with PostHog, hosted in the EU: without cookies until you answer, with cookies only if you accept, and not at all if you decline.

Sillon costs €15, paid once: a lifetime license with every update released in your first year, and no subscription. After that year it keeps working on the last version you received. Polar handles the payment and emails your license key, and you can get a full refund within 7 days. The details are in the terms.
